i am a data journalist working as an associate information graphics designer at the pew research center in washington, d.c.
before that, i interned on npr's graphics and digital news desks, where i analyzed and visualized data and pitched and reported stories across beats. i previously interned with chalkbeat and usa today's data teams and worked as an enterprise editor and reporter at the indiana daily student.
i'm more interested in using data to tell compelling, graphics-driven stories than in any given beat. because of that, i've covered a wide array of topics and institutions, including hospital price negotiations, access to books in prison, and child labor.
