hi! i'm kaitlyn radde.
about me
work samples awards

i am an information graphics designer at pew research center in washington, d.c. before that, i interned with the data reporting and graphics teams at npr and chalkbeat.

i've used data and documents to report on a wide array of topics, including hospital price negotiations, access to books in prison, and child labor.

in my current role, i work closely with researchers and web developers to make important findings shine on the web. on top of daily static charts, some of my recent design work includes a photo illustration for a groundbreaking study on america's news influencers and hand-drawn, animated sprites for an interactive essay about teen life today.

i'm also a developer on the center's R graphics package, which streamlines chartmaking in R and customizes ggplot2 to our style guide. if you're interested in doing something similar at your org, here's the github repo from a hands-on class i taught at nicar 2025.
